yes, that's at least the cause of the bug I'm seeing.
So Jozef: 2 things:
- fix examine_mbr to track BOOTMGR as Windows and the one I sent as generic - write 440 and not 446 bytes
This should improve the situation enough to make this FIXED
Tested and works well. I did it by another way but the result is the same: I've created a backup of the first 512 bytes before installation, after the installation was done, Vista refused to boot so I booted the rescue system and replaced bytes 441-446 in /dev/sda with those from the backup.
