I have reported this bug upstream at: 
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16215

I tried to solve the issue on IRC in #poppler but pinotree said he cannot
reproduce the problem with the 0.8 branch.

So either there is a patch between 0.8.1 and today or something else. ;)
