The corruption can have many reasons, motherboard, memory, faulty harddisk, bad
power supply ...
I do not think that network is in this game, because the network protocols are
protected by checksums and a faulty frame would be resent. Since you have
similar problems with other then network HW I think the problem is somwhere
else.
I let it open for feedback about memtest.
