- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx

Summary: Working Auidgy 2 Sound Requires Manual Intervention
Product: openSUSE 11.0
Version: RC 1
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Sound
AssignedTo: tiwai@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: ahowarth@xxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: Beta-Customer
Further to bug 396182 that I reported, I subsequently now have two other
separate sound bugs.
When all the dependent packages are provided and the system configures my
Audigy 2 sound card, no sound is actually outputted in the default setup.
After some hours fiddling around with what was happening I discovered that the
alsamixer requires the toggling of the audigy analog/digital output jack to
have sound correctly played.
Bug 1: The default setup has an incorrect configuration for the analog/digital
output jack setting.
In the process of my analysis I added a number of channels to Kmix where Kmix
would extend the size of the window to allow space for the additional items on
the window. However when I removed those items, subsequent windows of Kmix
still were very wide and were no longer required to be so wide for the window.
Minor Bug 2: When channels are removed from Kmix, Kmix does not automatically
resize the window for usability. A user is forced to manually size the window
themselves to remove now unnecessary space.
