I noticed that yast correctly identified and added to grub  entry for existing
installation of Fedora 8
However, choosing that option from the grub boot menu fails

upon booting it displays:

root noverify (hd1,4)
chianloader (hd0,0)+1

GRUB

~

and that's all, the system freezes and requires pulling the power plug.

boot partition is on sda1
and Fedora root is on raid0 partition /dev/md0
