je-d610:~ # mount //192.168.0.50/jon /mnt -o user=jon,domain=TUX-NET -v
mount: no type was given - I'll assume cifs because of the // prefix
parsing options: rw,user=jon,domain=TUX-NET
Password:
mount.cifs kernel mount options
unc=//192.168.0.50\jon,ip=192.168.0.50,pass=****,ver=1,rw,user=jon,domain=TUX-NET
mount error 20 = Not a directory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
The above is the output from the mount command. The remote server is a
standalone Debian server running Samba (so there is no real domain in use).
There is nothing written to dmesg or /var/log/messages on the client system.
Below is the related output from the Samba server log file for the specific
client:
[2008/05/27 10:25:14, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(950)
je-d610 (192.168.0.100) connect to service jon initially as user jon
(uid=1001, gid=1001) (pid 5654)
[2008/05/27 10:25:14, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1150)
je-d610 (192.168.0.100) closed connection to service jon
