I know you've recently added some other code that does this, yes, but I have
had this issue with every 2.6 kernel I've ever used. Most of them blocking me
unless I unloaded the ehci-hcd module during boot.
I can live with the results in 2.6.25, even though I expect I'll have to
install in USB 1.1 mode as before.
The hubs are all internal, so it's pretty difficult to replace any of them.
I have tried to make doubly sure that the various connectors are seated
properly, and those that I can reach seems to be....
So, I gather this is a hardware quirk I'll likely have to live with until this
machine dies, but can I do something to prevent this annoying message from
clogging up dmesg and messages at least?
The motherboard is made specifically for Aldi for this particular make and
model, so it is doubtful that I would be able to get another and the way the
machines are built make it very difficult to replace, sadly.
At least so far openSUSE 11.0 has handled it very well, if you can ignore the:

Which is a bit nervewracking.
Could it perhaps be limited to only print, say 50 times and after that log a
message about the continuing problem?
The message I saw from Linux Torvalds in my Google search only had the line
show up once for each port. Quite different from what I am experiencing.
