Echoing comment #1 from above, I would hope that 11.0 will retain the option to
use a ppd file from a local directory. Our office has a Konica Minolta BizHub
350 Network copier/printer. From the CD that came with the machine I use a ppd
file that works perfectly. It enables me to print duplex if I want to, or us
paper from any of the four trays.
I am testing 11.0 Beta 3, x86_64, installed from the DVD. Using Yast2 to
install the printer, I specify network printer, print directly to printer, then
try to use the Add Driver button. Nothing happens. I suppose the workaround
would be to pick some other printer just to install some ppd file and then
overwrite that file with the correct ppd file. It wasn't necessary to do that
in 10.3
