aplay -Dplug:dmix -vv foo.wav
The left channel sounds good. The right channel is distorted and quieter. I
can't change the volume with the PCM slider.
aplay -Dplughw:0 -vv foo.wav
I hear sound on both channels. Sound is good. I can't change the volume either.
aplay -Ddefault -vv foo.wav
It sounds like the first case, and this time I can change the volume with the
PCM slider. The behavior is exactly as described in my first comment.
I tried also with some 24-bit samples at 48Khz rate:
In the three cases the left channel is good and the right has always a loud
white noise.
In the two first cases I can't change the volume with the PCM slider.
In the third case: I can change the left volume but not the right volume (the
white noise is always at max volume).
