in reply to comment #5: yeah by default an OEM must have some swap space
I think this is also not bad for USB sticks. The value is the result of
the partition alignment done by fdisk if feeded with MB values. Changing it
to allow zero swap and therefore no swap partition at all would be a big
change

Is this a no go for you if there is some swap on your stick ?
