On my machine this looks more chipset than pata specific.
Here it did not help to remove pata driver from initrd to boot (so it might be
something else).
(I installed i386 11.0 and I am now exchanging kernels...).
I think I am going to bisect..., but this #@%$ machine takes hours for booting
:(.
If these are two different problems, maybe this one from mainline could help
you, it doesn't help here (be careful, just pasted, patch might be corrupted).
Tejun, do you think this could help? Should we add it anyway?:
