Summary: Remove /etc/init.d/hplip and all references to it
Product: openSUSE 11.1
Version: Alpha 0
Platform: All
OS/Version: SuSE Other
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Printing
AssignedTo: jsmeix@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: jsmeix@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsmeix@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Development

Since HPLIP version 2.8.4 (included since openSUSE 11.0)
there are no longer any HPLIP startup daemons.

For openSUSE 11.0 the hplip init script was still
present to provide backward compatibility:
It still exists to avoid that printer/scanner setup tools fail
when they try to enable the "hplip" service but all it does
is to stop a possibly running hpssd.

For openSUSE 11.1 the hplip init script should be removed
and all references to it too, e.g.

"Should-Start hplip" in /etc/init.d/cups

"rchplip start/stop" in the YaST scanner module

"rchplip start/stop" in the YaST printer module
