https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=390201 Summary: yast2 backup use squashfs or isofs instead of ( or in addition to ) tar to create mountable backup sets Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@yahoo.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer One of the main obstacles I find with backing up data is the relative time consuming procedure to get at the content for perusal and extraction of single / few files. If a mountable format was used the backup set could then be mounted a extra drive and files copied from it easily. Formats that come to mind are isofs and squashfs. isofs would make it quite easy to burn to CD/DVD while squashfs provides a higher level of compression. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
