https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=390107 Summary: autoyast uploads pxe config file way too early Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: AutoYaST AssignedTo: ug@novell.com ReportedBy: gernot@hillier.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer There's the special AutoYaST directive <pxe> which allows AutoYaST to be used easily with a PXE installation source. It works quite nice, but the PXE config file is uploaded by AutoYaST way too early. It's currently uploaded before package installation starts. If there's a sudden power outage or reset signal while the packages are installed (which takes quite some minutes resulting in a real risk that his happens!), the AutoYaST config is already on the server and tells the client to boot from the local disk. Certainly, this will fail in this step rendering the machine useless. It would be way nicer to upload the PXE config file right before restarting the system when all packages are installed and the bootloader in configured. Could you please change this (perhaps even still for 11.0)? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
