Sorry to have been unclear: of course I did not try to S2D with the Live CD,
but instead I tried with the installed system created by the Live CD! 

And here, I think, a swap partition should be created, especially when there is
one already present in the system.

I will try again, but I am very sure that the Live CD installer forgot about
adding a/the swap entry to /etc/fstab.
