Sorry about the kernel messages.
11.0 beta 2 was installed from DVD burned from ISO torrent.
I installed Gnome, KDE3 and KDE4. All 3 desktops function well.
I have 5mb internet.
Using Gnome desktop in this instance.
At what point?
Updating after installation had been completed. The first indication for
updates came as a green star shaped icon located on the right side of the main
panel that I assumed to be the updater. Clicking the icon gave a pop up upgrade
option for 14 updates and then requested the root password. After entering the
10 character password the dialog box would tremble and the password box would
blank. After re-entering the 10 character password again, I assumed that the
entered password was rejected. If I attempted to use YAST2 to perform the
updates, I would get a message stating that a process was still in progress
even though I had closed the updater. That condition requires a reboot to
clear. I know that I cannot use YAST2 to add/remove software if the updater is
running. I went through this process several times. Logging out and in or even
rebooting at times to "reset".
