I can unload the module thermal:

lsmod | grep processor
processor              68400  2 thermal
linux:/home/jogchum # rmmod thermal
linux:/home/jogchum # rmmod processor
ERROR: Module processor is in use
linux:/home/jogchum #

The proc is 70 degr. C now, I'll leave the system up to see what temp does.
