Summary: psmouse driver breaks resume after s2ram on acer extensa
5220 notebook
Product: openSUSE 11.0
Version: Beta 1
Platform: 32bit
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Kernel
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: dieter@xxxxxxxx
QAContact: kernel-maintainers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Beta-Customer
Hi,
my notebook goes fine in s2ram state (with s2ram -f), but when I try to resume
the notebook turns off immediately. So I build an own kernel from the
kerne-source rpm and found out, that the psmouse driver cause this problem.
I configured the kernel via "make cloneconfig" and the do only change
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2=y to CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2=m, so I can unload this driver before
s2ram and now it works.
So my wish is to compile it as module (so I can unload it with pmtools) or fix
the driver ;)
I don't know how to debug this, if you can tell me a way to give you more
information, I will do it.
I will add some stuff like acpidump, dmidecode, ...
