GNOME. :)
Anyway gconf backended compiz is very unstable now. I tried to use gconf
backend by installing libcompizconfig-backend-gconf & changed ccsm preferences,
but it crashes - entire screen becomes white - after login.
So I fallback to flatfile backend, then modified /usr/bin/gnome-wm's compiz
cmdline to use ccp as Jigish said. It works now. :)
IMHO maybe ccp (flatfile-backend) is better choice. Ubuntu also uses ccp by
default.

Default start-up must be using gconf backend, compiz-manager uses ccp backend.
What DE are you using KDE/GNOME?
