After this I'm experiencing severe package loss. Every 30 sec or so the network is dead for about 5-10 sec.
From reading various forums and bugzillas I have understood there have been issues regarding networkmanager and intel cards when Networkmanager is scanning for new networks. I therefor disabled networkmanager and instead brought the card up the old fashion way, Volia.. all package loss gone. I believe this is something similar since the following warning frequently is written to the log.
Apr 28 20:56:22 lillan NetworkManager: <WARN> request_and_convert_scan_results(): card took too much time scanning. Get a better one. Apr 28 20:56:22 lillan NetworkManager: <WARN> request_and_convert_scan_results(): card took too much time scanning. Get a better one. I found the bug #308895 and followed the instructions (this is a dell laptop), installed libsmbios and loaded the dcdbas, indeed that cleared the annoying killswitch message, however the package loss is still there. I have also upgraded the driver as well as the firmware. Help! :-) Brgds Jonas -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
