In your older y2log in attachment #179711 from bug #335674
I found this:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Autodetected scanners: [
$["connection":"SCSI",
"description":"SCSI scanner ' Scanner 636A4 1.50' at /dev/sg5",
"device":"/dev/sg5",
"manufacturer":"",
"model":"",
"usb_product_id":"",
"usb_vendor_id":""],
$["connection":"USB",
"description":"USB scanner (vendor=0x05da, product=0x0099)
at libusb:001:009",
"device":"libusb:001:009",
"manufacturer":"",
"model":"",
"usb_product_id":"0x0099",
"usb_vendor_id":"0x05da"],
$["connection":"USB",
"description":"USB scanner (vendor=0x0b95, product=0x1780)
at libusb:001:006",
"device":"libusb:001:006",
"manufacturer":"",
"model":"",
"usb_product_id":"0x1780",
"usb_vendor_id":"0x0b95"], $[]]
------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems it was already autodetected twice as SCSI scanner
and as USB scanner at libusb:001:009 in openSUSE 10.3
when you reported bug #335674.
Is this what you are now talking about here?
If yes, I can easily suppress the above listed devices
to be shown as USB scanners in YaST via a hardcoded
list in YaST scanner.
By the way:
According to Google search the third device at libusb:001:006
seems to be an ASIX AX88178 - USB2.0 to 10/100/1000M Gigabit
Ethernet Controller which was wrongly found as possible
scanner by "sane-find-scanner" but such issues should be
fixed as good as possible in openSUSE 11.0, see bug #310518
in particular regarding the "as good as possible" see
