Ok, the state of gnome-volume-manager is insane. It doesn't actually handle
/volumes/ at this point. Is this an upstream issue? 

Does g-v-m effectively do anything at this point? Where has the functionality
been moved? Where is the UI for turning on/off the auto-mounting of volumes? Do
the old GConf keys mean anything?

None of my volumes get mounted in 11b1, and I am suspecting g-v-m.
