Please find below the output from the very same machine running openSUSE 10.3
running kernel 2.6.22.17-0.1-default. Note how the passive trip point is 15
degrees lower:
% cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/trip_points
critical (S5): 93 C
passive: 74 C: tc1=8 tc2=5 tsp=600 devices= CPU
