As of 11.0 the rt61-driver is included in the kernel and based on the new
wireless stack (mac80211). Therefore using wpa_supplicant to get the connection
up is the correct way.

Using iwpriv-commands is an uncommon way and should not be used IMO.

Klaus, what is the exact problem? Does the rt61-driver shipped with 11.0
(~beta1) not work for you?
