https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=378310 Summary: /usr/bin/systemsettings crashes when started from the command line Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: mfabian@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development I installed Alpha3 in qemu using Japanese: qemu-kvm -std-vga -no-quit -m 512 \ -cdrom /mounts/dist/install/openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3/openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-x86_64.iso \ -boot d \ -hda $NAME.img \ -monitor stdio \ -net nic,model=rtl8139 \ -net user, hostname=$NAME \ -vnc :2 \ $@ I did choose the KDE desktop and set the timezone to Germany. Apart from that I accepted all defaults. After logging into the KDE4 desktop, I can start the systemsettings program using the menu (K-button in the taskbar). But, if I try to start it from a terminal, it crashes *unless* I use POSIX locale (crashes in de_DE, de_DE.UTF-8, en_US, en_US.UTF-8, ja_JP.UTF-8, ... The only locale I could find where it does not crash is POSIX). I *cannot* reproduce the problem on my workstation Magellan which runs Factory-x86_64 updated last on 2007-04-4. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
