https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=375245 Summary: udev & mkinitrd in factory Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: kasievers@novell.com ReportedBy: andi-nbz@firstfloor.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I just broke a 10.3 system by updating it to a 2.6.25 kernel from factory. I updated udev (and deps) too as required by the kernel dependencies, but the new udev has symlinks from udevadm to udevtrigger/udevsettle and the 10.3 mkinitrd doesn't know that and you end up with dead symlinks in initramfs which then breaks the boot. Possible fixes: - Make udev require a suitable new mkinitrd or - Use hardlinks from udevadm to trigger/settle/etc. I used the later workaround manually. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
