I don't think the bug you referenced would have been any different if we had a
hard-coded list. It was independent of the backend being used.

To select the correct backend cups-autoconfig looks at the output of the usb
and hp backends. It tries to figure out if any of the usb entries have
matching hp entries. It matches the entries using the IEEE1284 ids. If the
IEEE1284 ids are missing then it looks at the make-and-model fields. It always
uses the hp backend if possible.

I would really like to avoid keeping a hard coded list. Even if I parsed
models.dat I would still have to figure out if the usb and hp backend entries
are the same printer. I would rather just make sure the method for matching
works since we need it anyway.
