This has become a mess.
Samareanu Florin: can you please try to fix the ARGS in
/etc/ifplugd/ifplugd.conf as suggested in COmment #9?
Dennis Mueller: this does not seem to be a problem with madwifi, but rather the
Intel driver for the ethernet card. Probably, it does the same thing as tg3 -
does not detect link when not UP. Please post your /var/log/messages and do the
same test as Samareanu did in the first post: ifconfig eth0 down; ethtool eth0;
ifconfig eth0 up; ethtool eth0; Please also try modifying your ifplugd.conf as
suggested by Comment #9
Mészáros Gyula: What exactly is your problem? The same as Dennis's -- i.e.
the wireless network is selected instead of the wired ethernet? If yes, then
again, please provide your /var/log/messages and do the ifconfig eth0 down;
ethtool eth0; ifconfig eth0 up; ethtool eth0; test.
