https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=368314 User bo1@hjemmehosbo.dk added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=368314#c1 Summary: NFS communication slow Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bo1@hjemmehosbo.dk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other I have recently installed openSUSE 10.3 (including all updates) on a new PC, and it and its openSUSE 10.3 NFS clients communicate slowly (around 0.8 MB/s). With my old NFS server (also with openSUSE 10.3, including all updates) there were no problems. uname -a on NFS server: Linux altocumulus 2.6.22.17-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008/02/10 20:01:04 UTC i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux uname -a on one of the NFS clients: Linux kolindsund 2.6.22.17-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008/02/10 20:01:04 UTC i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux /etc/exports on NFS server: /home *.lokalnet.hjemmehosbo.dk(rw,sync,no_root_squash) /localmain *.lokalnet.hjemmehosbo.dk(rw,sync,no_root_squash) /exports-automount/misc/backup *.lokalnet.hjemmehosbo.dk(rw,sync,no_root_squash) /etc/fstab lines on NFS clients: filserver:/home /home nfs hard, intr 0 0 filserver:/localmain /localmain nfs hard, intr 0 0 (where "filserver" is a DNS alias for "altocumulus", the NFS server). I do not know if it helps you, but the mainboard of the NFS server is of the brand MSI and type G31M, and I use the on-board network interface. By the way, I have the same problems with Samba. I have no problems when the NFS client is a PC with FreeBSD 6.3-RELEASE. And I have no problems with the performance of the harddisks locally on the NFS server, nor with the network performance in general. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
