You do need the main repository to have the required 32bit dependencies. These
are added by default already, you probably opted out of adding them during
installation.
The main problem is that skype do not host the packages in a repository. They
have been contacted about this. Skype is also not redistributable by others.
You can try using the one click install at http://benjiweber.co.uk/skype.ymp
Which uses HTTP redirects to avoid redistributing the skype package (although
this is not currently re-adding the main repository).
Really this is skype's fault though, and they do not seem interested in making
it easier to install.
You also might want to reconsider using skype as it is:
- Non-free
- Spyware
- Uses your computer's resources to route calls
- Uses your bandwidth for other people's calls.
There are open standards for telephony, SIP is widely used.
