I have many PC with different monitors and OpenSuse 10.3 is configured correctly for the specific monitor and type and ALL PC's exhibit this problem of not correctly utilising defined screen space as kwin does. Please don't think petty of me, but I think the current splash screens not be positioned correctly makes the software very cheap and non-professional in appearance. Functionally they do what they are suppose to do, but to often users judge software on appearance rather than functional excellence.
