Thomas, I tested your kernel with the following setup:
openSUSE 10.3 (all updates installed)
Thinkpad T60 (2007-VCE)
ATI Mobility X1400 (using the fglrx driver)
BIOS Revision: 2.32
Changing the brightness with Fn keys works perfectly but the interface in
/sys/class/backlight disappeared and kpowersave isn't able to change the
brightness level.
