https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=359460 Summary: XGL completely breaks graphics Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Xgl AssignedTo: dreveman@novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@yahoo.com QAContact: bperry@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer When modifying "Desktop Effects Settings" to "Enable Desktop Effects" the x-server is completely broken. Instead of this help text "Your graphics card is supported. To enable Xgl, press "Enable Desktop Effects" below. This will log you out and return you to the login screen. If you are having problems configuring Desktop Effects, you can click the "Help" button below to visit the troubleshooting page on the openSUSE wiki for advice." a hint to /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager settings would be far more helpful. Resetting this to Xorg resolves the issue.
