https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=358605 Summary: Installation 11 on 2 disk system corrupts grub files Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mario_bz@mgtech.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other My system has: Disk1: Grub, Boot, Opensuse 10.3 (twice) and 11.0 Disk2: Grub, Boot, Opensuse 10.3, 10.1, etc. (This is a backup disk that I can boot from if needed. Each disk can boot to the other). When I installed 11 on disk 1, it modified the grub, boot, as ususal. However, the modifications were wrong. The device map should have remained: (fd0) /dev/fd0 (hd0) /dev/sda (hd1) /dev/sdb But instead was: (fd0) /dev/fd0 (hd1) /dev/sda (hd0) /dev/sdb As you can see, even though I installed on hda, the devmap was changed. In addition, the grub menu file now contained: gfxmenu (hd1,0)/message when it should have stayed gfxmenu (hd0,0)/message This did not happen on any previous release, from 7 through 10.3. Both disks are SATA, no IDE except DVD. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
