Thanks all for looking into this. As you plan to fix this only for suse-11.0
I would like to ask you to provide us (Nat Friedman or myself) with the patch
which fixes this problem for 11.0 when you are ready with it.

It would be great if we can distribute the patch along with our
image descriptions. This also will give us the opportunity to extend
the change not only to 11.0 What I read so far and from my experience as
the one who wrote the startup scripts I guess the patch touches core
components and most likely could be adapted to older versions of
suse linux too

Would be great if you can think of that when fixing this problem
