I guess this one confuses smart:

 <repository type="yast2">
   <source path="cd:///?devices=/dev/sr0"/>
 </repository>

If kiwi detects and URL type it does not know it passes it directly to
the packagemanager. I'm a bit concerned on the smart error message because
normally smart says something more useful. So this also looks like a
problem in smart

If you need the CD as source you can mount it loop and use the
path like <source path="/lala/bla/fasel"/>
