I would like to be able start multiple desktop sessions with different settings
on the same seat.
It seems that display managers for GNOME or KDE do not provide an option in
their login GUIs to allow a new session for the same user. I was returned to an
existing session despite the selection of a different window manager in GDM for
example. I do not want to create new users just for the purpose to switch
between their identifiers.
