Summary: linuxrc doesn't detect broadcom network card (BCM4401-
B0)
Product: openSUSE 11.0
Version: Alpha 1
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: cstender@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: ---

I tried to install openSUSE 11.0 Alpha1 (x86-64) over network, but linuxrc
didn't find the broadcom device.

-> Start Installation or System
-> Start Installation or Update
-> Network
-> FTP
-> Choose the network device.
-> Select "Hewlett-Packard Comparny BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX"

"No network device found.
Load a network module first."

b44 module was loaded and the kernel information dialog lists eth0 (see
attached screenshot).
