Hmmm... You're on the infamous ASUS P5W-DH, right? I thought I got everything
quirked for the board. Apparently, not. PIO 4k in is supposed to return 0
filled page. The failing read is block layer trying to read the partition
table. It seems like it needs further quirking such that it doesn't get
scanned for partition table.

Also, can you please post full boot log?
