I thought that splashy _is_ going to make the bootsplash obsolete in the
openSUSE too. Any other options? Yes, I understand that it is not a trivial
task to adjust the openSUSE booting to use splashy.

Jeff: Who was responsible for the powerpc kernel?

Any other ideas how to fix this if bootsplash can't be used and if splashy is
not exactly ready for openSUSE (or the other way around)?
