I have an nforce 4 board and a geoforce 6800 nvidia card. I use the nvidia
module from nvidia which taints the tainted kernel.
pata driver does not work with it. I use the standard ide drivers for dvd and
cdrom drives.
I have card that provides 2 serial ports. That driver is somewhat new.
Here are my current resources. I have 2 gig of memeory.
free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2038068 1972768 65300 0 18304 211388
-/+ buffers/cache: 1743076 294992
Swap: 281096 272212 8884
My filesystem is almost filled, but it hasn't been that low when it crashes.
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 118595408 111977040 593996 100% /
udev 1019032 92 1018940 1% /dev
/dev/sda2 35238412 32245416 1202956 97% /srv/www/htdocs/data
I would hope that if the kernel ran out of these resources it would say so and
not just crash.
Next reboot I will try the susekernel with nosmp and try to gather the error
message.
