Hi Brandon,

thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately the problem is still present in
2.6.24-rc6-13-default. I also upgraded the BIOS of the K7VT4APro to the latest
version 1.80 didn't solve the problem either.

By the way: The problem seams to be in the kernel for a long time. I had a look
into the /var/log/messages file of the SUSE 9.3 installation (Kernel
2.6.11.4-21-17-default) that ran on my server before for several years. Since I
installed the 82541PI some weeks before I upgraded to Opensuse 10.3 the log
file contains NETDEV WATCHDOG: transmit timed out messages. It doesn't contain
the e1000_clean_tx_irq messages maybe this where added in a later kernel
release.

Maybe I just go back to this cheap Realtek Gigabit card I have used before.
Would be a little bit slower but never had this lookups with the realtek one.

Thanks
Bernhard.
