https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=349498 Summary: Serial port is grabbed by xen, shielded from domain0 kernel Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: cgriffin@novell.com ReportedBy: erik@hensema.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- When xen is configured to output on the first serial port, domain0 can't access that port anymore. It simply isn't detected anymore. In opensuse 10.1 and 10.2, it was possible to access the first serial port in domain0. This is my grub config which works in 10.1 and 10.2: serial --unit=0 --speed=115200 --word=8 --parity=no --stop=1 terminal --timeout=10 serial console .. title XEN -- openSUSE 10.3 - 2.6.22.13-0.3 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/xen.gz console=com1 com1=115200 module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22.13-0.3-xen root=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_SMI_MODEL_00001231-part1 vga=normal console=tty0 console=ttyS0,115200n8 module /boot/initrd-2.6.22.13-0.3-xen Both grub and xen output to serial.
