(In reply to comment #60 from henry su)
I also copy all files in /etc/powersave/ from SLED10 to the same directory of
10.3, and use the powersave -u to enter S3, the system resumes with the
following message:
Received error reply:
/usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-power-suspend-linux:
line50: /usr/bin/hal-find-by-capability: Input/output error
/usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-power-suspend-linux: line 50:
/usr/bin/hal-find-by-capability: Input/output error
Could not send suspend to ram request to HAL

Could someone else explain what does it mean?

First, /etc/powersave/* is no longer used for suspend in 10.3, see
http://en.opensuse.org/Pm-utils for the current infrastructure.

You can still use "powersave -u" and "powersave -U", but they now work via HAL
and pm-utils.

It looks like hal or dbus has some problem on your machine. Does it work after
a reboot? Do you have all recent online updates installed on the 10.3 machine?
