I also had the keyboard blocked at login (KDM in my case) and could not enter
the password. However, I found a workaround: switching to tty1 (Ctrl-Alt-F1)
and then back to X (Ctrl-Alt-F7) makes the keyboard working. It also _seems_
(not 100% sure) to work if I wait some seconds before typing the password. Do
these methods work with GDM also or did I hit a different bug?
