sorry for the delay - i didn't have access to the computer and the camera.
using the test package, situation is better - opening camera with the second
popup dialog does not make it inaccessible anymore.
there still are several problems left (that might make sense in a separate
report - if needed, i can file them) :
1. there are two popup windows;
2. opening the second one does not give access to the files, instead, konqueror
fails with "Could not read file Could not lock the device." - this dialog
attempts to open path system:/media/camera.
path system:/media/sdb1 works.
