--- Comment #11 from Camaleon -- 2007-11-28 14:35:45 MST ---
Hello there,
A friend of mine has urged me (well, his exact words were: "UPDATE NOW!") to
perform an update of the system. I know there were some kernel updates from
10.3 release to now, but what make me think about the convenience of performing
such update was a carefully revision of the last kernel security announce* that
besides resolving some reiserfs glitches it also corrects "some networking"
bugs:
***
The Linux kernel on openSUSE 10.3 was updated to fix a critical locking problem
in the reiserfs code which lead to process deadlocks.
(...)
and the following non security bugs:
- Kernel update to 2.6.22.12
including fixes for: genirq, x86_64, Infiniband, networking, hwmon, device
removal bug [#332612]
***
Not sure if this kernel update can be related with this issue, but if I update
the system and I cannot get rid of this (it still persists), well, at least we
have then less options to check.
But I don't want to take any step before you agree on it :-).
