https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343851 Summary: YaST created raid not compatible with LILO Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: norbert.jurkeit@web.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer This time I tried do a fresh install with / on a software raid using LILO as boot loader. I created the raid-1 with YaST and selected LILO as boot loader. Copying of files started, but when it was finished and the boot sector was to be written, I got the message "Fatal: Inconsistent Raid version information in /dev/md0". The problem turned out as follows: LILO only supports raid-1 of version 0.9, but YaST creates a raid of incompatible version 1 and there is no way to change this. Creating the raid with mdadm finally worked. mdadm even applies version 0.9 as default. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
