- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx

- Message-id: <bug-342727-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=342727
Summary: yast2-ldap-client doesn't update nss_base_* settings
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Final
Platform: All
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: YaST2
AssignedTo: jsuchome@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: rhafer@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: ---
I did setup a LDAP client machine with yast2-ldap-client. After that I tried to
change the configuration to point to a different server with a different
base-DN. yast2-ldap-client only update the "base" and the "host" setting in
/etc/ldap.conf but not the "nss_base_passwd", "nss_base_shadow" and
"nss_base_group" settings. They were still set to the values from the first run
of yast2-ldap-client.
1. YaST should update those settings when changing the configuration, at least
when their values are the same as the old value of the "base" setting.
2. YaST should not write "nss_base_passwd", "nss_base_shadow" and
"nss_base_group" at all unless the user explicitly sets them to other values
than the "base" value.
