I'm not convinced this is an issue caused by the bug-buddy update.

Calling yum update after the release of perl, perl-base, cups, cups-client, and
cups-libs causes the same issue to yum as mentioned with the initial comment.

As soon as these packages got installed manually everything works as expected.

The tests had been performed on a plain openSUSE 10.3 system.  Only the default
repositories (opnensuse, opensuse-updates, and opensuse-nonoss) are in use.
